Political financing is subject to new transparency rules at the federal level. On Friday, the Federal Audit Office (SFAO) published the final reported revenues from the 2023 federal elections and a list of the actors audited during the election campaign.

For the National Council elections, 277 final bills were submitted for a total amount of 54.6 million francs. The largest individual campaign was that of the SVP Switzerland. It cost 4.6 million francs. At 12.9 million francs, the FDP announced the highest amount of income to be made public, ahead of the SVP with 11.6 million francs.

Only final invoices above 50,000 francs for successful campaigns must be disclosed to the Council of States. With an income of more than 400,000 francs, Zurich GLP councilor Tiana Angelina Moser (44) was at the top. (SDA)
