The media had reported it, now his family has confirmed it: Israeli actor Idan Amedi (35), known from the Netflix series ‘Fauda’, was seriously injured in the fight against terrorists in the Gaza Strip.

The “Fauda” actor, who was called up for military service, is said to have been traveling with his unit, the Combat Engineering Corps. What happened next is unknown. It is certain that Amedi was then flown to Sheba Hospital in Tel HaShomer. There is also a large base there for the Israeli Defense Forces. As Walla News reported, the Netflix star had several splinters removed from her body during the surgery.

Idan Amedi supports the Israeli army

His father told the portal that the famous soldier’s life was not in danger, but they were praying for his recovery. Amedi was one of the first Israeli celebrities to volunteer for service in the Gaza war.

Amedi recently kept its more than 250,000 Instagram followers regularly informed in stories. The mime artist, who is also successful as a singer, makes no secret of his support for the military response to the Hamas attack on October 7.

“The people of Israel live”

For example, he said that after the Hamas attack he knew “more than ever” what he was fighting for. According to the Times of Israel, he answers people who criticize the Gaza campaign of Benjamin Netanyahu’s government (74): “Even after 90 days of fighting, we are still destroying Hamas’s rocket launch pads and command facilities. I call on politicians, the media and everyone else: if you have nothing good to say, just keep your mouth shut. The people of Israel live.”

His ‘Fauda’ colleagues share this opinion. A co-producer of the series, in which Amedi plays Sagi and which revolves around an Israeli special unit’s fight against terror, was killed in a booby trap explosion in the Gaza Strip. Tsahi Halevi (48), who plays Naor, is another actor in the series who is active as a soldier. (no)
