The plane, coming from Rodez in southern France, was forced to end the runway landing on Thursday evening, the airport said. All passengers were escorted off the plane and looked after by airport staff. According to RTL broadcaster, there were 39 passengers and three crew members on board.
Also on the plane was the French Deputy Minister of Local Government, Caroline Cayeux, who was returning from a congress. “More fear than evil,” the minister tweeted after a photo of her and other passengers exiting the machine. “Fortunately there were no injuries. Thank you for your condolences and a huge thank you to the fire service and Orly Airport staff for their professionalism.” (sda/dpa)
