The mother from France, who was arrested in 2022 in the area of Morges VD after having been on the run for almost eleven years with her daughter Camille M.* (18), has been released. Priscilla M.* (49) was sentenced on appeal to an unconditional prison sentence of two years and nine months.
The online portals of the newspapers “24 heures” and “Journal de Morges” and French media reported on Wednesday evening about the release of the woman from a prison in Marseille. When interviewed by French television channel BFMTV after her release from prison, she said she was “proud” to have left with her daughter and that it was “the most beautiful thing” she had done in her life.
Mother and daughter make serious accusations against father
She recalled that she made this decision to keep her away from her father, who accused mother and daughter of incest. The father has always denied the allegations. The investigation being conducted at the time had been stopped.
The mother and her daughter were discovered in early March 2022 during a traffic stop near Morges. They had been reported missing since 2011. The mother had fled the region of Toulon in France with her then five-year-old daughter. She was going through a divorce at the time and claimed sole custody of her daughter.
Two years and nine months in prison
The mother spent several weeks in La Tuilière prison in Lonay VD before being extradited to France. At first instance she was sentenced to five years in prison, but on appeal the sentence was reduced to two years and nine months.
The daughter, who was a minor when her mother was arrested, was placed with a foster family in Switzerland. ‘Today she is of age and free. “She remains in Switzerland, where she continues her education and her life,” the mother’s lawyer told the TV channel BFMTV. (SDA)
