On October 7, the terrorist group Hamas attacked Israel, killing thousands of people. The terrorists’ sights included the Supernova Festival in Israel’s Negev Desert, near Kibbutz Re’im, near the border with the Gaza Strip. At the festival alone, 260 people died. Dozens of others were taken to the Gaza Strip as hostages.

The images of the attack on the festival are going around the world and causing horror. The same goes for the survivors’ stories of the brutality of the Hamas terrorists. The model Noam Mazal Ben-David (27) is one of the surviving festival visitors. She tells about terrible scenes and how she survived the attack.

Festival survivors and their friend hid in containers

Noam Mazal Ben-David and her boyfriend David Neman attended the Supernova Festival together, arriving around 6:30 am on the morning of October 7. The young artist wanted to celebrate there and exhibit her artwork. When the first explosions were heard, she thought they were fireworks, reports the British tabloid Express. But it soon became clear that it was a terrorist attack.

“It was like Russian roulette to see who got a bullet.”

Noam and her boyfriend David could not escape by car because the terrorists had blocked the exits, she reports. “Run for your life,” a guard reportedly shouted. And they did that until they came across two large containers. The model explains how she and her boyfriend ended up in one container with fourteen others.

Then they heard the terrorists throw a grenade into the other container. She describes that at that moment they realized that everyone there was dead. They hid in the container for three hours and heard shooting behind the container.

At some point, Hamas also became aware of their hiding place. “As the Hamas gunmen approached, David grabbed me and threw me in the back of the container and told me to go as deep as I could and hide.” Then they started shooting at them non-stop. “It was like Russian roulette to see who would get a bullet,” she reports.

She sees her friend shot in the chest. David dies. A girl lying on top of her was shot in the shoulder. Noam himself was hit in the foot and hip and quickly lost a lot of blood. The terrorists must have assumed she was dead. For two hours she waited quietly in the container among the corpses while the shooting continued around the container.

Noam Mazal Ben-David was eventually found and rescued by Israeli forces. Only four of the sixteen people in the container survived the attack. Noam is one of them. She was taken to a hospital and is recovering there.
