After suspected IS members made threats against the Italian Prime Minister, they were arrested as part of an anti-terrorist operation.

Anti-terror operation in Italy: Two Egyptians are accused of being “extremely active” in spreading IS propaganda on the internet and helping to finance the terrorist militia, as the responsible public prosecutor’s office in Milan announced on Tuesday. They are also said to have made personal threats against right-wing Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni (46). One of the two men also has Italian nationality.

Like other European countries, Italy has massively tightened security measures after the attack on Israel by the Islamist-Palestinian organization Hamas. Jewish institutions enjoy special protection. At the same time, Meloni’s right-wing government announced it would implement stricter controls on refugees arriving in Italy. (SDA)
