The German band Rammstein will go on tour again next year. The six musicians announced this on Tuesday via the band’s social media channels.
“Today Rammstein announces their European Stadium Tour 2024!”according to the Berlin band’s post. Presales for the concerts start on October 18. Further details were not initially published.
According to information from dpa, the series of performances will be similar to the third part of their European tour this year. Rammstein played no fewer than twenty concerts in 16 European stadiums from May to August.
More than 100 performances with fire and fireworks
The tour has been running with interruptions due to corona since May 2019. During the two-hour show, which is all about fire, effects and pyrotechnics, the band plays more than 20 songs each. The program for the more than 100 performances so far has been slightly adjusted after the release of the latest Rammstein album.
Frontman Till Lindemann (60), guitarists Richard Kruspe (56) and Paul Landers (58), bassist Oliver Riedel (52), keyboardist Christian “Flake” Lorenz (56) and drummer Christoph Schneider (57) live in Berlin. The six musicians came together here in 1994 and have since developed with their hard sound into the most internationally successful German band.
Tour recently overshadowed by accusations
This year’s Rammstein tour was overshadowed by accusations, especially against Lindemann. Women had described situations on the internet or in media reports that they sometimes found frightening. During concerts, young women were selected and asked if they wanted to come to the aftershow party. According to some women’s accounts, sexual acts also took place.
Lindemann had rejected the accusations against himself. The public prosecutor’s offices in Berlin and Lithuania have closed investigations into the allegations. The public prosecutor’s office in Berlin said its evaluation of the available evidence did not reveal any evidence that Lindemann had “performed sexual acts with women against their will.” (saw/sda/dpa)
