Christian B.* (46) is not only suspected of kidnapping the then three-year-old Madeleine ‘Maddie’ McCann in 2007. Four years earlier, he allegedly raped Irish student Hazel Behan in Portugal. A witness now spoke about it.
A source told The Sun about the witness: “He started his early shift at a nearby hotel and said he saw a man dressed in black running from the apartment block.” The Irish student lived in the apartment building in question. The now 40-year-old worked as a holiday representative in Praia de Luz, Portugal.
The victim has waived anonymity
According to the source, the witness could see the man’s face “because he had taken off a mask.” He later described the man to police as ‘Christian B.’. identified.
Last year, Hazel Behan waived her right to anonymity to speak publicly. She said at the time: “I always said my attacker was a German with piercing blue eyes and a voice I would recognize immediately.”
“It Makes Me Sick”
When Christian B.’s name was mentioned in connection with the Maddie case, she immediately knew he was her rapist. “It makes me sick,” the Irish woman said.
B. is currently serving a prison sentence of several years after being convicted of rape in Portugal in 2005. The 46-year-old is also accused of several rapes he allegedly committed in Portugal between 2000 and 2017. (obf)
