Switzerland took 6th place at the Nations Cup in Barcelona. It is the last appearance of Michel Sorg (in black) as team leader.

The victory in the A-Final, worth 1.25 million euros, goes to the German team. They triumphed without penalties ahead of France and Belgium (both eight penalties each). Behind them, Brazil secured a ticket to the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris by just one point in a match against the USA (5th place).

The start still looks promising for Switzerland. Starter Martin Fuchs shows a flawless ride with Commissar Pezi. Then Elian Baumann on Little Lumpi and Janika Sprunger on Orelie recorded two drops. Finally, European champion Steve Guerdat with Venard de Cerisy made no mistake after falling on the steep jump.

After victories at the CSIO St. Gallen, in Falsterbo in Sweden and in Dublin, Switzerland traveled to Barcelona as number 1. However, there is no happy ending for Michel Sorg in his role as team boss during his last Nations Cup. Among the French-speaking Swiss, Switzerland finished sixth at the European Championships in Milan in early September and thus secured a ticket for Paris 2024. (SDA)
