Journalists in the South Asian country are repeatedly kidnapped when they criticize powerful institutions such as the military. TV presenter Khan disappeared from his hometown of Sialkot in Punjab province in May after sharply criticizing the arrest of former prime minister and opposition leader Imran Khan, to whom he is not related despite having the same name. The politician’s party welcomed the journalist’s return on live television on Monday and spoke of a victory for the truth. (sda/dpa)
