The candidates appear on a total of 618 lists – 21 percent more than in the last election – as the Federal Statistical Office (BFS) announced after Monday’s official list deadline for the federal elections. However, compared to 2019, almost the same number of list connections have been achieved, namely 80 compared to 81 four years ago.
The leaders in terms of election proposals are the Center and the GLP. These two parties make up almost a third of the entire field of candidates.
Never before have there been so many women among the candidates. The share rose to a record high of 41 percent. Almost one in three of all candidates is younger than 30 years old. (SDA)
