Chaos at Gate C-62 at Mallorca Airport! A bare-chested man throws objects around, throws a computer against a window, destroys a printer – the 26-year-old is completely out of character.
This is evident from video recordings of several passengers in Las Palmas, Mallorca. The images show that the facility at the gate suffered significant damage.
Have to pay for carry-on luggage
But what made the man so angry? According to “Diario de Mallorca”, the 26-year-old wanted to fly from Las Palmas to the Canary Islands on Thursday morning. However, Ryanair flight staff stopped him as he boarded and asked him to pay for his hand luggage.
It is not known whether the suitcase was too heavy or too large – or whether the passenger simply did not book it. When an employee noticed that the drunken man was not allowed on board, he panicked.
Passengers attacked
He took off his T-shirt and started rioting. Apparently he also attacked the airline’s employees. One of the employees was hit by the man and suffered minor injuries. He also attacked other passengers who tried to calm the angry man.
Finally the police put an end to the whole commotion. The Civil Guard brought the passenger under control and took him away. He must now appear in court for minor bodily harm, damage to property and disturbing the peace. (neo)
