“To the Ukrainian border guards and police – in admiration for your extraordinary courage and service to your country and our partnership,” Blinken wrote in a guest book, news channel CNN reported Thursday. He also visited a demining center.

On platform X, formerly Twitter, the diplomat showed himself against the background of armored vehicles. According to the Ukrainian Civil Defense, 30 percent or 174,000 square kilometers of the country’s territory is contaminated with mines and the remains of unexploded ordnance.

Ukraine has been fighting off a Russian invasion for over 18 months with massive Western aid. The US strongly supports Kiev in this. Blinken has visited the Eastern European country for the third time since the start of the war. (SDA)
