Climate protests are almost the order of the day in Germany. Now a scene from a protest on Saturday on a bridge between Mannheim and Ludwigshafen is causing a stir. You see activists glued to the street.
Police officers are working to free the demonstrators from the asphalt. A policewoman carries an oil can and pours part of it into an activist’s hand. Then she runs to the next activist, but pours oil on the recorded person’s head as she passes.
The police are investigating the consequences
The group Last Generation shared the video on X, formerly Twitter, writing: “Oops! The policewoman let the oil can slide.”
Now the police officer is being threatened with consequences. Mannheim police felt compelled to issue a press release and reference the video. She writes: “It is currently being investigated whether the conduct will result in criminal and disciplinary consequences for the officer.” (neo)
