Heat drama on a flight from Malta to Milan!

There are shocking scenes that Tiktoker Marco Ferrero (32) aka Iconize captured in a viral video. He was trapped with many other passengers on a Ryanair plane.

The plane was supposed to depart from Malta to Milan at 10 a.m. on Wednesday morning, but for reasons that are still unclear, the plane took off only twelve hours later. But that’s not all: the passengers also had to stay on the plane for three hours before they could disembark. In addition, the outside temperature was 42 degrees and the air conditioning in the plane was not working. The “Corriere della Sera” reported on the incident.

In the clip, Ferrero describes the frightening situation as follows: “We’ve been at the airport since 10 a.m., now it’s exactly 8:30 p.m. They released us, people fainted and had panic attacks. The ambulance had to come.” The Tiktoker has included clips in its video showing passengers suffering from the heat and trying to cool down by cooling themselves.

Consumer protection is involved

Ivano Giacomelli, secretary of the Italian consumer protection agency Codice, intervened after the heat horror. “The passenger’s report is shocking, and the photos even more so. There you see people exhausted from the heat. Some of them are treated on the runway by the ambulance and medical staff,” said the consumer advocate.

Giacomelli added: “Ryanair will have to answer for this as this cannot simply be dismissed as a normal incident. We are not just talking about the delay here, but simply keeping the passengers on the plane for hours – between high temperatures and panic attacks”. He announced that he would quickly clear up the incident and punish those responsible. There must also be compensation for the passengers. (nad)
