Suspicion of terrorism in the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia: The German federal prosecutor’s office discovered a suspected Islamist terrorist cell in the state on Thursday. Seven suspects have been arrested. They are accused of founding and being active in a terrorist organization.
Raids were carried out in several locations. “They are mainly Tajik men, plus a Turkmen and a Kyrgyz suspect. They entered Germany at the start of the war in Ukraine in the spring of 2022 and formed a terrorist organization here by June 2022 at the latest,” said a spokeswoman for “Bild”. (SDA/dzc)
