Fiat breathes new life into this iconic hero

The Fiat Panda is one of the cult heroes of the brand. There is good news for lovers of the edgy Italian. The manufacturer is working on a new one.

The Fiat Panda was first launched in 1980. It was a very simple car with a recognizable design. A total of about 4.5 million units were built. The second Panda generation will follow later in 2003 and the third in 2011. This third will be replaced in 2024.

The new Fiat Panda

More precisely on July 11, 2024, then Fiat will show the new model. The CEO of the brand Olivier Francois told the British Autocar. After all, Fiat celebrates its 125th anniversary on this day. The new Panda will be similar to the Centoventi concept discussed back in 2019.

According to reports, the new Panda has an electric drive. However, the Jeep Avenger and 600 are also based on the CMP platform. This means that a fuel variant can also be made from it – although this may not make it to the Netherlands. The CEO tells the British medium that the car will be around 4 meters long.

In terms of design, the new Panda should come close to the Centoventi concept. However, functions such as a replaceable battery should not be expected.

Although much is still unclear about the Fiat, it is nice to see that Fiat is breathing new life into an old acquaintance. Want to know more about the new Panda? Then check out the video below from 2019 where we already showed the Centoventi concept car.
