Tragedy in Kosovo: A woman and her five-year-old son drowned in severe flooding. In the small town of Peja (Pec), located in the western mountains, flash floods came after heavy rains, the Serbian-language Kosovo portal “kossev.info” reported Sunday, citing authorities.
According to other reports, the two victims were surprised by the flood in their house on Saturday evening.
A landslide had previously occurred near the house. President Vjosa Osmani (41) described the accident as a “shock” for the entire country. Prime Minister Albin Kurti (48) also expressed his condolences on Facebook and promised that civil protection agents would be deployed to repair the damage to property in the area. (SDA/dzc)
