13.3 centimeters tall: The world’s largest kidney stone removed in Sri Lanka Putin needs money – that’s why there is now a special tax for oligarchs in Russia

According to the Guinness Book of World Records, doctors in Sri Lanka have removed the largest kidney stone to date. So the stone was 13.372 centimeters long. Doctors at Colombo Army Hospital removed the 801-gram stone more than two weeks ago, the Sri Lankan military said.

The patient, in his 60s, a former soldier, spoke to local reporters and said he was fine several days after surgery. He has recently been medically examined for abdominal pain.

Kidney stones are deposits that form from insoluble substances in the urine. They can cause severe pain. (saw/sda/dpa)
