Three men floated out to sea on this duck. When the rescues came, only the toys were there. The men swam to shore.

Because they were driven out to sea with an inflatable duck and could not get ashore on their own, three men in England called the coastguard on the spot.

As the rescue company RNLI announced on Thursday, according to eyewitnesses, the men were with the float near the seaside town of Westward Ho! in the western English county of Devon. After just five minutes, they were driven 75 meters out to sea. When they were about 200 yards away and even a companion in an inflatable kayak couldn’t pull them back, the witness alerted the Coast Guard.

However, before the rescuers arrived by speedboat, a man with a stand-up paddleboard came to the aid of the three on the duck. He managed to drag the duck, named “Quackers”, back to an area from which the men could swim to shore.

Inflatable toys should never be taken out to sea in Bristol Channel Bay, with its strong currents and winds, the RNLI said. “There is no way to control them and they will be pulled from shore in seconds,” the rescue organization warned. (SDA)
