New Audi E-Tron increases range by up to 44 percent

Facelift for the E-Tron: Audi’s large electric off-road vehicle gets a fresh design, updated technology and a new name with the Q8 E-Tron.

New look, new technology, new name: the Audi E-Tron is now the Q8 E-Tron. As a result, the SUV should be better integrated into the future, increasingly electrified model range of the Ingolstadt company. The Q8 E-Tron can be ordered from mid-November for significantly higher prices from 74,400 euros. Deliveries are scheduled for February 2023.

New controller gets more out of the battery

Both variants of the Q8 E-Tron can be recognized by new details such as the retouched radiator, the two-dimensional Audi logo and the lettering on the B-pillar.

Choice of two variants: in addition to the version with station wagon in the rear, there is also a coupé.

But in everyday life, the battery update is more important than the appearance: with a new controller, the Bavarians can increase the usable capacity of the two battery packs, which have a gross capacity of 95 and 114 kWh. With improved aerodynamics as well, the range increases to 582 kilometers for the hatchback model and up to 600 kilometers for the Sportback.

80 percent battery charge in half an hour

Up to 40 assistants: if necessary, a camera can replace the exterior mirror.

In addition, the Q8 E-Tron, which competes with vehicles such as the Polestar 3, the Mercedes EQS SUV or the BMW iX, should now also be able to charge faster: with up to 170 kW, the jump from 10 to 80 percent is possible Audi in 31 minutes in the future.

Both body styles are tuned to be slightly more dynamic and agile thanks to a revised rear-axle engine and are available in three performance levels with 340hp, 408hp or 503hp. The top model can accelerate to 210 km/h, for the other two the limit is 200 km/h.

Still available: The previous Q8 remains unchanged in the range.

By the way: the previous Q8, which has been on the market since 2018 and is only available with combustion engines or a plug-in hybrid, will continue to be offered under its well-known name. For now, continue under the old name.
