South Korean automobile company Hyundai is on the path to growth. The group increased its car sales by almost 7 percent last year.

This emerges from figures presented separately by both companies on Wednesday. Hyundai Motor Group is one of the ten largest automobile companies in the world. This year’s sales target has been lowered slightly to 7.44 million vehicles. Hyundai Motor alone plans to sell more than 4.24 million vehicles, including cars from its luxury Genesis brand.

Last year, Hyundai sold 4.22 million cars. This corresponded to an increase of 6.9 percent. According to the statement made by the company, increasing interest rates and global inflation had a negative impact on market expectations in the automotive industry. However, the company “has seen significant growth in global markets, particularly in (South) Korea, North America, Europe and India.”

According to its own information, Kia increased its sales to its own record with 3.09 million cars last year. South Korea’s second-largest automaker attributed its success primarily to growing demand for SUV models.
