Every car fan will begin to dream: on 18 June the British auction house will put up for auction over 70 private collector’s cars at the Chéserex near Nyon in the canton of Vaud. These include rare and valuable sports cars such as the 1500 hp Bugatti Chiron with a top speed of 420 km/h.
Bugatti, up for auction on Lake Geneva, is a three-year-old Chiron that last drove almost 5,500 kilometers per hour in Switzerland and was used with the classic two-tone paint of Atlantic/French Racing Blue. It should find a new owner over the weekend at an estimated price of about three to three and a half million francs.
Two rare Ferraris
Another automotive pearl is on offer for about the same estimated price (2.5 to 3.0 million): a 1990 Ferrari F40 at just 16,100 kilometers per hour. This coveted piece is the last car developed under the direction of the legendary Enzo Ferrari. It is considered the last great analogue super sports car.
In addition, another Ferrari, the 599 SA Aperta, estimated at 1.7 to 2.0 million Swiss francs, will come under the hammer. The Formula 1-derived convertible with a six-liter V12 and 612 hp was born in 2011, only 80 were produced and is seen as an homage to designers Sergio and Andrea Pininfarina.
The list of other cars up for auction can read like a collector’s catalog of dream cars or previous quads. Among others, a second generation Ford GT with 647 hp and only 750 kilometers (estimated: approximately CHF 900,000), a Mercedes SLR McLaren 722 S Roadster from 2009 (approximately CHF 600,000), a 1972 Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Daytona Berlinetta (approx. 550,000 Fr.) or the legendary ducktail (about 450,000 Fr.) with a barely moving 1973 Porsche 911 Carrera RS 2.7 Touring.
And even a rare Swiss-made Monteverdi 275L from 1970 is not missing from the Bonhams range. Time will tell if a new owner can be found on Sunday for the expected CHF 70,000 to 100,000.

As in previous years, all cars on auction can be viewed at the Bonmont Golf Club in Chéserex from noon Friday, June 16th, to Sunday, June 18th, before the auction.
