One dead and more than 200 injured at the celebration of the Neapolitan “Scudetta”

In addition, a 20-year-old woman was admitted to Frattamaggiore Hospital, in the province of Naples, in serious condition with a head injury and a life-threatening hemorrhage into the brain. The young woman, while she was with three other people, was run over by a man who collided with the outer wall of the Casoria Carabinieri barracks, running over four people who were walking there.

The driver attempted to flee on foot, but security footage allowed him to be identified and booked. Four people who were run over, all between the ages of 20 and 31, were transferred to different hospitals. In addition, the long Neapolitan night ended with more than 200 citizens needing medical attention for various reasons.

Among the most frequently repeated were those related to injuries from the use of fireworks or torches, as well as smoke inhalation; bruises and fractures from falls or collisions; and panic attacks. Three of the wounded were police officers, all in a minor condition.
