NFL star Shaquil Barrett, 30, is mourning the loss of his two-year-old daughter Arrayah in a terrible accident. Despite resuscitation measures, she could not be saved.
Local Tampa Bay authorities received an emergency call shortly before 9:30 a.m. that a girl had fallen into the pool. Two-year-old Arrayah was taken to a local hospital but was pronounced dead soon after.
In a statement, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, with whom Barrett won his second Super Bowl in 2021, extend their condolences to their linebacker and his family. “Our thoughts and prayers are with Shaq, Jordana and the entire Barrett family at this incredibly difficult time.”
Barret and his wife Jordana have been together since high school. They have three older children, Shaquil Jr., Braylon, Aaliyah.
The police investigation is still ongoing and everything currently points to a tragic accident. (dti)
