This resignation comes unexpectedly: Fabian Wilkens Solheim gives up his skis at just 27 years old. The Norwegian announces this on Instagram.
“After several seasons with many ups and downs, I have decided to complete this wonderful journey and start something new in my life,” writes Solheim.
“Height” should primarily mean his assignments on team events at major events. In 2021 he won World Cup gold in Cortina with Norway. A year later there was Olympic bronze in Beijing. In the World Cup, Solheim felt particularly comfortable in the giant slalom in Adelboden: In 2019 he scored his first points on the Chuenisbärgli (22nd), in 2020 he achieved his best result in his career with ninth place.
In its last World Cup season, however, the giant only made it to the second race in the first race in Alta Badia (19th place). (cmu)
