The Winnipeg Jets with Nino Niederreiter are one step closer to making the playoffs. In a direct game against the Nashville Predators without the injured Roman Josi, they win 2-0.
Nashville will probably miss the playoffs for the first time since 2014, as they hold the worst cards in the battle for second wild card spot in the Western Conference, still going into the final playoff ticket. The Predators have 88 points, the Winnipeg Jets have 91 and the Calgary Flames have 90. Nashville and Winnipeg have three games left and Calgary have two more.
Malgin scores twice
Denis Malgin had a successful evening. The Swiss striker scored twice in Colorado Avalanche’s 4-3 away win over the Los Angeles Kings, who are still without an injured Kevin Fiala.
