Last season, Swede Mathias Bromé played for HCD, before returning to Örebro for this season.

Mathias Bromé has reached the semi-finals of the SHL playoff with Örebro after beating Timra in the Belle. But the ex-HCD striker can’t really be happy with that. Because the Swede has had difficult days. He is afraid. What happened?

In the middle third of game five, Bromé drops a bit over the top. For this swallow he collects – as usual in Sweden – a fine of 500 francs. But that’s probably not enough for some opponents. They cover the 28-year-old with nasty threats on social media and via text message. After the quarter-final series ended, the former Davos star spoke about it for the first time.

Bromé turns to the author of the threats

“It’s scary when you get stuff like that in the mail,” Aftonbladet quoted him from a local newspaper. He describes an example: “That I am tormented, depressed and left to freeze to death in the snow.” Bromé is shocked, “also because I have a girlfriend at home who is pregnant”. The proportions that everything has taken on are terrible and disturb him.

That is why Bromé turns to the authors of the hate messages. “You have to think before you send something like that to someone. Maybe one day you will become parents yourself. Do you want your children to receive such threats?” he asks the rhetorical question. And emphasizes that everything has its limits somewhere. He now tries to hide everything as best he can. Because on Saturday Bromés Örebro starts in the semifinal against Skelleftea.
