The Catalan team beat three direct rivals for the title in March

Manresa is a rival with whom Obradoiro is not bad, better in recent seasons. The victories throughout their careers in the Endesa League are very similar, with a slight luck ratio in favor of the group prepared by Moncho Fernández. However, in the latest exchange rates, it seems that the entire Galician capital has taken the measure of the Catalan team.

Obradoiro has won six of the last seven games he has played against Manresa. Four in Sara and two in Nou Congost. Since November 2019, Moncho Fernández’s men have enjoyed against the Catalans, with a small break in the last championship, in which Manresa recorded a convincing victory in January: 104-84 (29-11 in the last room).

Nigerian striker, Chima Moneke, has been a nightmare for the people at Compostela. In 23 minutes, he scored 32 points (9 of 12 baskets, 1 of 3 three-pointers and 11 of 15 free throws), as well as 12 rebounds and 39 PIR points. A little more than three thousand fans witnessed it Moneke’s most points in the Endesa League. Guard Joe Thomasson was another pain for the Obradoirists. The American from Ohio scored 19 points.

Only one defeat in the last seven clashes with Manres i nothing more than failure in his last three visits to Nou Congost. Before 104-84, Moncho Fernández’s boys recorded two great 76-80 and 79-85.

In the 2020-2021 campaign, four obradoiristas scored double-digit points and sealed victory on Catalan soil. Lithuanian Laurynas Beliauskas was the Obra’s top scorer (15 points, with 3 of 7 three-pointers). Then Laurynas Birutis (14 points, 7 of 10 points and 4 rebounds) and Canadian guard Kassius Robertson (14 points). Nebraska’s American forward Mike Daum recorded 11 points and 9 rebounds.

another win

In 2019-2020, in another victory at Nou Congost, Dejan Kravic was the great protagonist of Obra and the executioner of Manresa. 2.10 pivots were unstoppable. In almost 27 minutes, he scored 20 points (8 points from 14 attempts and 4 from 4 free throws), and 6 rebounds and a PIR of 21.

Obra will visit a much-needed rival and that he will not give up, that he is going through his best moment on the track after a magical month adding three victories in March against direct enemies in the fight for survival. The Catalan collective, with morale at its peak, will get an Obradoiro willing this Sunday to return what he took from the cauldron of Sar el Breogán. Those of Moncho Fernández have already forgotten the failure experienced in the derby against the Lugo teamwhich left such a bad taste in the mouth of the local parish.
