The Norwegian Football Association, led by Lise Klaveness, wants to refuse to support Gianni Infantino if he is re-elected as FIFA boss.
“We are not going to elect him,” said the 41-year-old German “Sportschau” on Thursday before the World Federation’s electoral congress in Kigali, Rwanda. Afterwards, Klaveness adds the following sentence: “We believe he missed a lot of opportunities to actually implement the changes he was chosen to make.”
Norway’s decision is unlikely to affect the election results. Infantino is aiming for his second full term in office and enjoys the support of a large majority of the 211 associations. There is no opponent for this. (SDA)
