This is probably the best reason to end a season early: Austrian skier Tamara Tippler (31) is expecting offspring and will therefore not participate in the World Cup final in Soldeu (Andorra), she explains in a post on her Instagram profile .
In the post she shared on Saturday morning, the Styrian writes that she did not expect the pregnancy. “It also comes as a surprise to me and I realize that I no longer have the willingness to take risks that have always distinguished me to race at the highest level.”
Motivation is still high
Nothing has changed in the motivation to ski. “The passion for skiing is still very strong and I am excited to see what the future of skiing will bring,” she continues. The father of the unborn child is Tippler’s life partner, Oliver Selle.
Among the Austrian’s post there are numerous benefactors of pregnancy. Among them are comments from Swiss speed drivers Corinne Suter and Joana Hählen.
Tippler has not made the podium in any race this season. Fifth place in the Super-G of St. Anton and sixth place in the downhill Cortina d’Ampezzo were the best results. (par)
