Season ended early for Money

Alexis Money will no longer compete in World Cup races this winter.

Alexis Monney (23) crashed horribly on Saturday in the descent of Aspen (US). As a result, he developed pain in his right knee and began his journey home to Switzerland on Sunday.

Further investigation has now revealed that the 2020 Junior Downhill World Champion was unlucky. He ripped his inner tube, but everything else is intact.

The only drop of bitterness: the season is over for the Fribourger. He misses the World Cup final in Soldeu (And).

In total, Monney has raced 13 World Cup races this winter (nine downhill and four Super-Gs). And an exclamation mark was placed on two classics in particular. He was tenth on the Lauberhorn and eleventh a week later in Kitzbühel (Austria). (MWP/bir)
