Peter Prevc creates a shock moment during training on the big hill at the Nordic World Championships in Slovenia. The local hero loses his balance early in his flight, falls and then slides down the slope. A problem with the right binder clip could be the cause of this accident.
After the first aid, Prevc is immediately taken to a hospital. As he is led away, he raises his left arm and waves. The FIS reports that he is “ok” and states that the 30-year-old complains of back pain.
Prevc has 23 World Cup victories in his career so far. He won the Four Hills Tournament in 2016 – as well as the overall World Cup. With the mixed team he won Olympic gold in Beijing in 2022.
At his home World Cup in Planica, he carried the Slovenian flag during the opening ceremony. However, the trainers nominated him neither for the normal hill competition (last Saturday) nor for the mixed part (last Sunday). On Friday the competition will take place on the big hill. (yup)
