Will FC Schaffhausen attack with Saudi money soon? Prince Abdullah bin Saad bin Abdulaziz Al Saud confirmed on X that an agreement has been reached to invest in the club. Jimmy Berisha, chairman and CEO of FC Schaffhausen, met the prince on the occasion of an international tournament in the Saudi port city of Jeddah.
The house is worth well over a trillion dollars
Prince Abdullah is a cousin of Saudi King Salman and a nephew of de facto ruler and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. Abdullah is the governor of Hail province. The founder of the state, Ibn Saud, is his grandfather. A member of the royal family? That means one thing above all: there is plenty of money! Crown Prince Bin Salman, for example, is said to personally control more than a trillion dollars. This comes close to obscenity.
Berisha does not want to talk about the meeting (yet) and postpones it until later. FC Schaffhausen in turn confirms Berisha’s invitation to the tournament: “It is a great honor for our club and a good opportunity to make international contacts. Jimmy Berisha also clarifies the possibilities of a project in the field of marketing/commerce. This is good advertising for FC Schaffhausen and Munotstadt in an exciting economic region.”
Dubious main sponsor and rumors about outstanding payments
The penultimate team in the Challenge League can use money. The collaboration with a new main sponsor was terminated prematurely because the sources of financing were questionable. A new main sponsor stepped in, but whose contract expires at the end of the season. Lately there have been rumors about outstanding player wages and pension fund payments.
The prince further writes on X: “God willing, I will visit you next month at the club’s headquarters. We ask God for success.”
