There was a huge uproar surrounding Ardon Jashari when he declined to be called up to the U21 national team in November. The 21-year-old made it clear at the time that he is currently not available for “Nati of the future”. Both the player’s environment and that of his employer FC Luzern later revealed that the association had not kept to the agreements with the talented midfielder. Maybe Jashari will only be called up for the A-Nati?
Jashari himself remains steadfastly silent on this subject. Murat Yakin now speaks for this. He again did not nominate Jashari for the A-Nati – and says: “He could become important in the future. Ardon is young and needs patience. If a player is still allowed to play for the U21s, he must do so and gain experience there. We have a lot of density in the center of midfield. The nominated players have proven themselves at international level.”
Jashari has admitted: he is part of U21 coach Sascha S Tauch’s selection for the important European Championship qualifier against Albania on March 26.
