The GCK Lions forced a seventh and decisive match in the semi-final series of the Swiss League with a 3-1 home win against Olten. This takes place on Friday evening in Olten.
The team from Zurich made up for a 0-1 deficit in the middle third thanks to Noah Böhler and Jarno Kärki before Robin Leone secured the win a few minutes before the end.
Eliot Antonietti gave Olten’s team the lead and thus raised hopes for a few days of rest. The final series against the qualifying winner and last year’s B champion La Chaux-de-Fonds would not have started until Sunday even without the seventh match.
Of the other teams in the Swiss League play-offs, only Olten is entitled to promotion. If interim coach Gary Sheehan’s team does not triumph, the play-out series between Kloten and Ajoie will be canceled because there is no relegation. (cat/SDA)
