She doesn’t give up. Not even after her fourth ACL tear. And especially not now! “I’m doing fine, my knee is doing great. It’s been two months since I first got back on skis. “I will soon be training in the slalom gates again,” says Aline Danioth (25).
The stand-up woman from Andermatt UR has been looking ahead for a long time and dreaming of a comeback to the ski circus. “But it’s not enough for this season. Because I have injured my knee so many times, I want to take my time,” says Danioth.
With lion logo for a comeback
In fact, the slalom specialist has had very little time in recent months – it’s her own fault. “That’s right,” she says, laughing. “I launched several projects over the summer because I felt like I would be bored without training.”
Exactly: Danioth developed its own new logo in the shape of a lion. She also uses it to make clothes that she sells on her homepage. “I’m investing the money in my comeback,” she says.
But that’s not all: Danioth is about to complete her Pilates training. She loves the whole body workout and has even taught classes. «I see myself in this area in the future when I’m done skiing. That’s why I built this foothold for myself.”
Danioth is determined to attack again next winter. She got her inspiration for this a month ago in Kitzbühel (Austria) – she went on a camping holiday in Tyrol with two friends, followed the men’s races closely and also went skiing. «Kitzbühel is legendary, as a child I watched the races on TV. And because I now had time, I enjoyed the experience firsthand. It was really cool.”
