Fun and adventure are guaranteed for the whole family in the Jungfrau ski area.

accessibility

The first advantage of the popular holiday region is its extremely good accessibility: The Grindelwald Terminal, a junction for the entire Jungfrau ski area, can be reached in no time by train from Bern in an hour and a half and every two and a half hours from Zurich, Basel and Lucerne.

Eiger Express

We continue at a rapid pace with the 3S lift, which opened in December 2020 and is the heart of the Jungfrau ski area. The Eiger Express takes holiday guests to the Eiger Glacier in just fifteen minutes and from there to the Jungfraujoch – Top of Europe or directly to the ski slopes.

The Eiger Express is the most modern 3S cable car in the Alps.

Simply the most beautiful

Skiing for the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau – for many people this is simply the most beautiful winter experience ever. In addition, holiday guests can also race along the course of the famous Lauberhorn descent. A real highlight!

Impressive

…but the entire ski area is in the Jungfrau ski area. There are no less than 211 kilometers of slopes available in the two Lütschinen valleys. A real winter paradise for skiers and snowboarders with numerous gentle slopes, steep slopes, race tracks, snow and fun parks.

Top of Europe

A trip to the Jungfraujoch is and remains a must. At 3,454 meters above sea level, the highest train station in Europe is the gateway to a world full of adventure with the Sphinx Terrace and the Glacier Plateau, from where there are fantastic views of the longest glacier in the world, the UNESCO World Heritage Aletsch Glaciers, several four-thousanders and all up to the Black Forest.

A visit to the Jungfraujoch – Top of Europe should not be missing from your to-do list.

Eating with a view – in other words: evergreens on your plate

When hunger and thirst rise in the mountain air, you are spoiled for choice in the Jungfrau region. In addition to the fine beef tenderloin with whiskey sauce in the Crystal restaurant on the Jungfraujoch, to Cordon bleu or Riz Casimir in the Eigergletscher restaurant and the square Alpine pizza in the Kleine Scheidegg restaurant, there are also real classics such as slices of cheese or fondue everywhere on the menu – with the fine ” Eigerspitzli” as a sweet, regionally typical ending to the meal. Free everywhere: top perspectives on the mountain panorama.

High speed

The first address for adventurers is the First above Grindelwald. Here holiday guests have the choice between the First Flieger and the First Glider – two real adrenaline rushes that take you through the valley at up to 84 speeds. Not for weak nerves! The new viewing platform “First View” and the First Cliff Walk presented by Tissot provide breathtaking views. The Bernese Alps are close enough to touch.

With the First Glider you float on your stomach through the mountain air and enjoy the panorama and the speed.

Extraordinary tobogganing fun

Even the title “Top of the World” applies to tobogganing in the Jungfrau ski area. At 15 kilometers, the “Big Pintenfritz” is the longest toboggan run in the world – a winter experience in a class of its own. Toboggan enthusiasts can cover a total of 50 kilometers on their runners.

Sublime

Speaking of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau: there is hardly any other word than ‘sublime’ to describe the workings of the triumvirate. ‘Venerable’ at best. Or ‘impressive’. Poets have also sung the Song of Songs. Adolf Friedrich Graf von Schack wrote about the Virgin in the 19th century: “It is she, the high queen of the mountains/On her glacier throne/Lifted her mighty crown high above the earth.”

The Eiger North Face is one of the great North Faces of the Alps.

First ascent

The north face of the Eiger is legendary. In 1938, a team of four from Germany made the first ascent of this most difficult rock face ever.

Only

…in the sense of wonderfully quiet, there are more than 100 kilometers of winter hiking trails. On the perfectly prepared routes you can enjoy the silence, far from the hustle and bustle of the slopes – only the crunch of your shoes can be heard. And you might even spot one of the local animals along the way.

The Jungfrau ski area is not only ideal for winter skiing, but also offers well-groomed winter hiking trails and toboggan runs.

Shop

An extensive shopping trip is also possible without any problems in the Jungfrau region. Whether in the souvenir shop at the Jungfraujoch – Top of Europe, in the shopping arcade in the new Grindelwald Terminal – or in the large Top of Europe flagship store in Interlaken.

“One day” and “Enough”

Gölä fans don’t have to wait an indefinite day – although the title of one of his songs might suggest so. On March 24, the Büezer rocker will perform at the SnowpenAir in Grindelwald – and warm up the audience with his hits. But that is not enough as a star factor in the SnowpenAir line-up: in addition to Gölä, Simply Red will also perform on the stage of the Grindelwald Terminal. Will the British chart toppers also play the relatively unknown title ‘Enough’ from 1989 on March 23? Fans can definitely look forward to chart-topping hits like “Stars” and “Something Got Me Started.” Gotthard, Soraya, Heimweh and Stubete Gäng are also participating.
