The first advantage of the popular holiday region is its extremely good accessibility: The Grindelwald Terminal, a junction for the entire Jungfrau ski area, can be reached in no time by train from Bern in an hour and a half and every two and a half hours from Zurich, Basel and Lucerne.

We continue at a rapid pace with the 3S lift, which opened in December 2020 and is the heart of the Jungfrau ski area. The Eiger Express takes holiday guests to the Eiger Glacier in just fifteen minutes and from there to the Jungfraujoch – Top of Europe or directly to the ski slopes.

Skiing for the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau – for many people this is simply the most beautiful winter experience ever. In addition, holiday guests can also race along the course of the famous Lauberhorn descent. A real highlight!

The first address for adventurers is the First above Grindelwald. Here holiday guests have the choice between the First Flieger and the First Glider – two real adrenaline rushes that take you through the valley at up to 84 speeds. Not for weak nerves! The new viewing platform “First View” and the First Cliff Walk presented by Tissot provide breathtaking views. The Bernese Alps are close enough to touch.

Even the title “Top of the World” applies to tobogganing in the Jungfrau ski area. At 15 kilometers, the “Big Pintenfritz” is the longest toboggan run in the world – a winter experience in a class of its own. Toboggan enthusiasts can cover a total of 50 kilometers on their runners.

Speaking of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau: there is hardly any other word than ‘sublime’ to describe the workings of the triumvirate. ‘Venerable’ at best. Or ‘impressive’. Poets have also sung the Song of Songs. Adolf Friedrich Graf von Schack wrote about the Virgin in the 19th century: “It is she, the high queen of the mountains/On her glacier throne/Lifted her mighty crown high above the earth.”

The north face of the Eiger is legendary. In 1938, a team of four from Germany made the first ascent of this most difficult rock face ever.

…in the sense of wonderfully quiet, there are more than 100 kilometers of winter hiking trails. On the perfectly prepared routes you can enjoy the silence, far from the hustle and bustle of the slopes – only the crunch of your shoes can be heard. And you might even spot one of the local animals along the way.

An extensive shopping trip is also possible without any problems in the Jungfrau region. Whether in the souvenir shop at the Jungfraujoch – Top of Europe, in the shopping arcade in the new Grindelwald Terminal – or in the large Top of Europe flagship store in Interlaken.

Gölä fans don’t have to wait an indefinite day – although the title of one of his songs might suggest so. On March 24, the Büezer rocker will perform at the SnowpenAir in Grindelwald – and warm up the audience with his hits. But that is not enough as a star factor in the SnowpenAir line-up: in addition to Gölä, Simply Red will also perform on the stage of the Grindelwald Terminal. Will the British chart toppers also play the relatively unknown title ‘Enough’ from 1989 on March 23?
