The first two flagships of the ninth edition of the Geneva Open (18 to 25 May) have been announced. Casper Ruud (ATP 12) and Ben Shelton (ATP 16) play a week before the French Open in Geneva.
25-year-old Norwegian Ruud won the clay tournament in 2021 and 2022 and can now call himself a three-time Grand Slam finalist (2022 and 2023 in Paris and 2022 in New York). American Shelton, who is four years his junior, made headlines last year with his passage to the US Open in the semi-finals.
Since 2015, the Geneva Open has counted on the participation of five Grand Slam winners: Roger Federer, Stan Wawrinka, Daniil Medvedev, Dominic Thiem and Marin Cilic. (SDA)
