They love Cristiano: Chinese fans wait at the airport for their hero to arrive.

With the China tour and two test matches in the city of Shenzhen, the Saudi club Al-Nassr actually wanted to win more fans in Asia. But instead, the Riyadh club is causing a lot of problems in China.

The reason for this is Cristiano Ronaldo (38). The Portuguese superstar should have been the main attraction of the tour. But due to muscle problems, Ronaldo cannot play the two scheduled test matches. Al-Nassr then quickly canceled the two matches.

Fans storm the hotel

Incomprehensibly for the Chinese fans, they go to the barricades. As videos on social media show, scores of angry fans stormed the team hotel to vent their anger.

Cristiano Ronaldo himself apologized to the fans after the incident: “In football there are things you cannot control. I’m really sad because Al-Nassr and I came to China to enjoy the tour. I have been coming to China since 2003/2004 and I feel at home here – my second home,” he told the club.

Still, they plan to return to China: “We will come back to make the Chinese people happy, that is my goal,” Ronaldo continued.

Will there be a match against Messi?

It is currently unclear exactly what muscle problems the superstar is suffering from. It also remains to be seen whether the injury will also affect the test match against Inter Miami on February 1 in Riyadh and the planned reunion with long-term rival Lionel Messi (36). (bjl)
