The Formula 1 World Championship will have a new destination on the calendar from the 2026 season. In the future, the racing series will take place on a street circuit in Madrid. The agreement is valid for ten years.
A route is planned in the northeast of the city, close to Real Madrid’s training ground. It should be about three and a half miles long and run around the convention center and exhibition center.
In Spain, Formula 1 races have been held in Montmeló since 1991. It remains to be seen whether the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya will still be held despite a Grand Prix in the capital. (SDA)
