Initially, the sports shooter was provisionally banned by Swiss Sports Integrity because the refusal constituted a possible violation of the Swiss Olympic doping statute. Now Swiss Olympic has announced that he will be suspended for 24 months by the Swiss sports disciplinary chamber. The ban will come into effect retroactively from November 23, 2022 and “applies to all sports and all functions in sports worldwide”.

In addition to the ban, the shooting athlete must also pay procedural costs of 1,000 francs and compensation of 750 francs to Swiss Sport Integrity. Swiss Olympic is not releasing the name of the shooter. (beer)
