Early this week, Wendy Holdener, 30, fell during slalom training in Pozza di Fassa, Italy, and broke her left ankle. The slalom star underwent surgery at the Hirslanden Clinic on Tuesday and will now be out for months.
But Holdener hasn’t lost his smile. This is evident from her Instagram post on Friday morning, with which she contacted her fans for the first time since the fall.
Positive message and thanks to the fans
The woman from Schwyz lies on her hospital bed with a smile. Below she writes: “Well, that certainly wasn’t planned, but here I am, surrounded by a great team, skilled doctors, my dear family and friends, and I’m already looking forward to it.”
She then sent a thank you note to her fans: “Thank you for all the love and the nice messages, that really means a lot to me!” The woman from Schwyz also posted a photo of her foot in a cast. On the thigh is a good luck message with a shamrock and a shamrock – and a thank you to the doctors.
Holdener decorates her post with hashtags such as #DasistSport and #Ichwilldezurücksein. So the motto is already clear. (bjl)
