Even though it was hard work: the European Championship qualification is in the bag. Now the Swiss national team is preparing for next summer’s tournament.
In the first match of the new year (March 23, 8 p.m.), coach Murat Yakin’s team will take on Denmark in Copenhagen. This will be the first team together for the national team since qualifying for the European Championship three weeks ago.
The Danes qualified as group winners for the European Championship – on a level playing field with Slovenia. The last time they were opponents of Switzerland in the 2020 European Championship qualification (1-0 defeat).
It is not yet clear who will face Switzerland in the second Test match of the March meeting. The international matches in direct preparation for the European Championship in early June 2024 are not yet scheduled. (par)
