UEFA confirms location: European Championship final 2025 will take place in Basel

When Switzerland was awarded the 2025 Women’s European Championship, the question immediately arose about the location of the final match. Bern or Basel? UEFA announced on Saturday afternoon that the start and final matches would take place in St. Jakob Park in Basel.

The European Championship starts on July 2 and ends on July 27, 2025 in Basel. The other locations are Bern, Geneva, Lucerne, Sion, St. Gallen, Thun and Zurich.

Prize money as for men

UEFA also announces the prize money for the European Championship finals. These are the same as for the 2020 Men’s European Championship: a total of 331 million euros will be paid out. Each country will receive 9.25 million euros for participation. In the best case, if all three group matches are won, a total of 28.25 million euros could be raised. (jsl)
