Cricket players can only watch the Emirates-Namibia World Cup match

The Dutch cricketers lost their third game at the T20 World Cup. Sri Lanka triumphed by 16 runs in Geelong, Australia, leaving the Orange hoping for a United Arab Emirates win over Namibia to advance to the next round.

Once again the bowling was fine. Especially Paul van Meekeren made it difficult for the Sri Lankans with his rockets of 145 km/h. On the field, however, the balls just fell wrong and by the end of the inning, Sri Lanka was on a rampage.

The total of 162 runs proved to be asking too much. Max O’Dowd struggled with 71 good runs (6×4,3×6) and captain Scott Edwards hit a quick 21 runs. However, they received too little support.

Next round?

If the Emirates win against Namibia (game started at 10:00 Dutch time) and the Netherlands finish second in the group, the Oranges will end up in a group of six in the next round, including Bangladesh, South Africa and former world champions India (2007) and Pakistan (2009).
