Vogt and his pushers Andrea Orsinger, Alain Knuser and Sandro Michel finished fifth again in both competitions with the large sled at the Olympic complex last year during the Winter Games. The gap with the victorious Lochner was, just like the day before, almost the same. On Saturday the margin was 59 hundredths, on Sunday the Schwyzer is 66 hundredths behind the German after the two runs.

The Swiss teams with Cédric Follador and Simon Friedli at the wheel are in the last two places of the rankings in a thinned starting field with only eleven teams. Patrick Baumgartner surprisingly finished in second place. The Italian leaves the second bobsleigh led by four-time Olympic champion Francesco Friedrich behind with a lead of one hundredth.

The next World Cup stop is La Plagne (Friday). On the 1992 Winter Olympics circuit, the men’s program again included two-man and four-man bobsleigh races, and the women’s two-man and monobob competitions. (SDA/mab)
