According to Nissan, the Qashqai E-Power is intended for people who are not yet ready for an electric SUV. And that also applies to this Ram 1500 Ramcharger.
The Ram 1500 is the most popular pickup truck in the United States after the Ford F-150 and the Chevrolet Silverado. The model recently received a facelift and is now also available as a fully electric truck.
A Ram 1500 for everyone who can’t decide
This intermediate form, the Ram 1500 Ramcharger, is new, with a kind of Nissan Qashqai E-Power-like drivetrain. This means that it is always electrically powered, with a petrol engine in the front as a range extender. Two electric motors are installed in the Ramcharger. It produces 340 hp at the front and 324 hp at the rear.

They are powered by a 92 kWh battery. That’s significant, but not when you compare it to the available battery packs in the Ram 1500 EV: 168 or 229 kWh. The Ramcharger’s battery can be so “small” because it is constantly replenished by a 3.6-liter V6 engine that acts as a generator.
The fact that gasoline consumption is therefore lower than that of a conventional truck (Ram) is perhaps the least relevant in the US. The Ramcharger’s main advantage is that it can tow a 14,000-pound trailer without suddenly losing range like an electric pickup does.
pendulum weight
According to Ram, the 1500 Ramcharger – which can be charged with up to 145 kW – has an all-electric range of 233 kilometers, which is ideal for the daily commute. If you also empty the fuel tank, you get a range of no less than 1,110 kilometers.
