On October 4, AC Bellinzona announced in a press release that Mario Rosas (43) is the new head coach. More than twenty days later, it is all history again: the Spaniard is no longer head coach. And no assistant either. The new coaching duo is: Manuel Benavente (50, boss) and Fernando Cocimano (52, assistant).
According to information from Blick, Rosas is not allowed to work for AC Bellinzona in any capacity. Because after a standard check by the Swiss Football Association, it turned out that Rosas has neither the UEFA Pro license nor the A diploma.
However, this only came to fruition after Rosas’ debut with Bellinzona, which took place on October 8 in the Brügglifeld of Aarau and ended with a 2-1 victory for the team from Ticino. When the incident became public through the Ticino media, FC Aarau had slight hopes of a forfeit victory.
But Blick knows that this will certainly not happen. It is still unclear whether there will be a bus for AC Bellinzona and Rosas.
The fact is: Bellinzona now has the tenth (!) head coach since April 2022 with Manuel Benavente. Even Sion coach Christian Constantin (66) cannot keep up with this pace.
