After a strong start, Scout Winterthur also managed to take a nice lead (12:5) in the home match against the Spanish representative Cuenca. The Winterthur team did this with more confidence than the Schaffhausen team and eventually won 32:28.

Kriens-Luzern, however, is still waiting for its first point after the 29:30 away defeat to AEK Athens. Apart from the starting phase, the team from Lucerne was always behind, managed to equalize at 29:29 and then left the field as losers.

In the group stage, each representative plays six matches in the eight groups of four. The first two qualify for the main round in four groups of four. (SDA)
